1. HOW CAN I CARE FOR MY WATCH TO PREVENT CRACKING AND INCREASE DURABILITY?
Your watch is capable of remaining fit to wear for many years if only you take good care of it. A sudden change in humidity and temperature can damage your watch. Leaving your watch in your car on a sunny day can make the wood to swell, which can lead to it cracking. Alternatively, leaving it in your car on a cold night or day causes it to shrink, which places pressure against the pins and glass, and could lead to breaking in those areas. Controlling the amount of humidity is also important. Excess humidity causes the wood to take in the water and swell. Very little humidity will cause the wood to dry, which in turn makes it shrink. Shrinking and swelling maximize chances of cracking at that time and in the future. Therefore, if you're not putting it on, please see to it that it's indoors and well-protected in either a jewelry box or its original packaging to protect it from an excessively dry or wet environment. In addition, the best thing for you to do for the wood of your watch is to see to it that it's well conditioned, keeping the wood safe from the elements. We suggest that you use Lemon oil or Tung oil, both of which are available online and at hardware stores. Clean it using a soft cloth. Pour a tablespoon of oil on the cloth then use the cloth on the wood, slightly buffing it. This will keep your watch conditioned and clean, as well as increasing its luster.
2. ARE WATCHES WATER RESISTANT?
Luxury watches are known to be splash proof. Ordinary use and wear can include a day at the gym or kitchen activities. However, total dipping of the watch in water is not advised both for the good of the wood and the movement. Exposing it to moisture for long can lead to lowered flexibility in the band's wood links. Should this happen, let the watch dry for 1 or 2 days to enable the wood links to dry and come back to their normal size.
3. WILL I HAVE ALLERGIES TO MY WOOD WATCH?
We use only 100% natural wood to make our Luxury Watches. We do not use toxic chemicals to protect or treat the wood. For any client who experiences rashes or itching on their wrist after putting on a Luxury watches watch, we advise that you refrain from putting on the watch and seek medical attention immediately.
4. HOW DO I WIND MY AUTOMATIC WOOD WATCH?
After receiving your wood watch, ensure that you have a look at the instruction card provided. Wind your watch at least 15-20 times before putting it on. After that, your activity on a daily basis should be enough to maintain the winding of the watch, if it is worn daily for a minimum of 8 hours. Failure to consistently put on the watch or sufficiently move may lead to more manual winding. Since it's a mechanical watch, the accuracy of a quartz watch should not be expected. If your watch is fast or slow consistently even when you wind it or wear it properly, and you've passed the warranty duration, you should take it to a reputable watch repair store or jeweler and have them service it. The service should include; oiling, regulating the movement and cleaning.
